A doctor’s inspection today confirmed the above. Since Marufuji holds the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles with Atsushi Aoki this could have title implications if he’s out long-term again.

Update: Neck (cervical vertebra) injury according to SportsNavi. If this is anything similar to the neck injury that has kept Takeshi Rikioh sidelined for the better part of, if not over, a year now this could be long-term.
