4/23 NOAH Results

04/23/2011

NOAH continued the Global Tag League today with the second of back-to-back doubleheaders, results from the first of 2 events at Sapporo Teisen Hall:
They claimed 1050 paid (sellout).
Taiji Ishimori beat Shane Haste in 9:35.

Katsuhiko Nakajima beat Atsushi Aoki in 11:26.

Ricky Marvin, Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotaro Suzuki beat Genba Hirayanagi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & KENTA in 18:56. Marvin pinned Hirayanagi.

Global Tag League:
Masao Inoue & Bison Smith beat Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero in 14:19. Inoue pinned Hero.
Mohammed Yone & Takashi Sugiura beat Kento Miyahara & Kensuke Sasaki in 14:05. Yone pinned Miyahara after Kinniku Muscle Buster.
Takuma Sano & Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Shuhei Taniguchi & Go Shiozaki went to a 30 minute time limit draw.
Yutaka Yoshie & Takeshi Morishima beat Akitoshi Saito & Jun Akiyama in 16:27. Morishima pinned Akiyama after a backdrop.

Standings:
Yone/Sugiura: 3-0-1, 7 points
Morishima/Yoshie: 3-1, 6 points
Takayama/Sano: 2-1-1, 5 points
Shiozaki/Taniguchi: 2-1-1, 5 points
Akiyama/Saito: 2-2, 4 points
Inoue/Smith: 1-3-1, 3 points
Miyahara/Sasaki: 1-3, 2 points
Castagnoli/Hero: 1-3, 2 points
Each team has 3 matches left except Inoue/Smith, they have 2 left and thus cannot win outright, they can only force a tiebreaker. Everyone else is still mathematically in it but Miyahara/Sasaki & Castagnoli/Hero are virtually done (apparently the latter couldn’t back up their big opening win over Takayama & Sano) and the loser tomorrow of Miyahara/Sasaki-Castagnoli/Hero is officially out. Inoue/Smith are also out if they lose tomorrow (Morishima/Yoshie). If Sugiura/Yone win tomorrow (Shiozaki/Taniguchi) they basically control their own destiny but we’ll know much better after 4/27 when they face Takayama/Sano.
