5/12 Dragon Gate Results-Who Will Be KING OF GATE?

Dragon Gate ran their monthly Tokyo big show today, and it was big as they kicked off their annual KING OF GATE tournament, a singles tournament to determine the #1 wrestler in the promotion. Results from Korakuen via SportsNavi:
They claimed 2000 paid.
YAMATO & KAGETORA beat Don Fujii & Takuya Tomakomai in 11 minutes. KAGETORA pinned Tomakomai.

Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito beat Kenichiro Arai & Taku Iwasa in 12:12. Siato pinned Iwasa with a dragon suplex hold.

CIMA, Naruki Doi & Ricochet beat BxB Hulk, Susumu Yokosuka & Super Shisa in 20:51. Ricochet pinned Shisa after countering a Yoshitonic.

Yasushi Kanda beat Masato Yoshino in 11:57.
Dragon Kid beat Pac in 11:56.
Cyber Kong beat Gamma in 12:19.
Masaaki Mochizuki beat Shingo Takagi in 18:18. This means there will be a new KING OF GATE-Takagi was the defending tournament winner.

With regards to the usual event fallout, most of it comes in the form of Mochizuki convincing YAMATO and his fellow KAMIKAZE members to align with him and the former WORLD-1 faction in the war against Blood Warriors. This sets up the following matches for the next Korakuen on 6/8 with some very interesting pairings:
Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito vs. Shingo Takagi & BxB Hulk (Remember it was Takagi who took Hulk’s hair this past year)
Masaaki Mochizuki, Masato Yoshino & YAMATO vs. CIMA, Naruki Doi & Yasushi Kanda (Mochizuki recently beat Yoshino to become Open The Dream Gate Champion and just retained against YAMATO last week)

As for KING OF GATE, the first half of the quarterfinals are now set: Mochizuki vs. Kong and Kid vs. Kanda. The other 4 1st round matches will be Saturday with quarterfinals part of the Sunday, Monday & Tuesday events. Semis & Finals are 5/21.
