New Japan News: Another Mexico Excursion, Upcoming Title Matches

Some New Japan news coming out of a presser with President Naoki Sugabayashi today:
Tetsuya Naito is headed to Mexico today for an excursion to CMLL. He is expected to be there until the end of July.

The hinted-at title matches coming out of yesterday’s event have been confirmed. IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson & Giant Bernard vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Hirooki Goto for the titles is set for 7/3, while IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Giant Bernard for the title will happen on 7/18. 7/3 will not be for the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

MVP & Minoru Suzuki will work all shows in the next tour, as will TAKA Michinoku.

Also announced for 7/18 are Satoshi Kojima vs. Suzuki and Hideo Saito (Mitsuhide Hirasawa) vs. Yuji Nagata. It appears Saito may be returning as a heel because he says he wants to join CHAOS. They also made IWGP Intercontinental Champion MVP vs. Toru Yano for the title. Again.

In addition to Naito being headed to Mexico, CMLL will send Hector Garza over for the July tour. Strong Man is also expected to make his first appearances since the beginning of the year.

NEW IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi will work a couple events, mainly in 6-man & tag team matches.
