Joshi News: Kaori Yoneyama Calling It A Career In December

A surprise item from JWP and one that will certainly disappoint a number of joshi fans-Kaori Yoneyama is retiring at the end of the year. Her final event will be JWP CLIMAX 2011-Kaori Yoneyama FINAL on 12/23 at Korakuen, JWP’s annual year-end blowout event. JWP announced the event today after Kaori announced her pending retirement on her blog (ameblo.jp/yone-zou) yesterday. Kaori is definitely retiring fairly young, she’s only 30 but has been wrestling for 10 years. It’s been an up & down year for her, she started the year as JWP Openweight Champion but lost the title in April to Leon then missed 2 months due to injury, but it seems like (based on translations) she’s satisfied with everything she has been able to do in wrestling and so her farewell tour begins this weekend at Itabashi Green Hall.

More as it becomes available and as her final event draws closer.
