7/23 NOAH Results: Burning Spirit Reborn-The Champion Returns!

NOAH’s latest big show is in the books and at long last Kenta Kobashi, aka The Perfect Champion, has returned once again! Results from GREAT VOYAGE 2011 IN OSAKA at Osaka Prefectural Gym:
They claimed 4800 paid (sellout).
Yoshinari Ogawa beat Akira Taue in 4:22.

Zack Saber Jr., Delirious & Eddie Edwards beat Genba Hirayanagi, Aero Star & Jack Evans in 6:21. Edwards pinned Hirayanagi after Diehard.

Masao Inoue, Shuhei Taniguchi & Mohammed Yone beat Masashi Aoyagi, Takuma Sano & ? in 9:28. Yone pinned Aoyagi after Kinniku Muscle Buster.

Jr. Tag League:
Block A: KENTA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru beat Osamu Namiguchi & Tatsuhito Takaiwa in 15:09. KENTA pinned Namiguchi after GO 2 SLEEP.
Block B:
Atsushi Kotoge & Daisuke Harada (Osaka Pro) beat Ricky & Rocky Marvin in 13:45. Harada pinned Ricky with Katayama German.
Satoshi Kajiwara & Katsuhiko Nakajima beat Atsushi Aoki & Kotaro Suzuki in 18:50. Nakajima pinned Suzuki after a cross arm type atomic bomb.

Takashi Sugiura vs. Kensuke Sasaki went to a Double KO in 19:17.

GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson & Giant Bernard (New Japan) beat Yutaka Yoshie & Takeshi Morishima in 16:27 to retain the titles. Bernard pinned Yoshie after Magic Killer. V1 for the champs.

Kenta Kobashi Return Match: Akitoshi Saito & Jun Akiyama beat Go Shiozaki & Kenta Kobashi in 28:09. Akiyama pinned Kobashi. Nonetheless the wait is finally over as Kobashi is back after 577 days on the sidelines due to injuries and personal reasons (health issues and also having gotten married, and his new wife-singer Mai Mizuki-deserves some credit for heping him get back in shape and into the ring again).

    4800 dosen’t really seem like a sell out. Didn’t NJPW draw around the 6000 range at Osaka Prefec Gym and it was considered a sell out? Perhaps NOAH used a smaller setup.

    Normally yes, but my translation said Nakajima used similar, just a different variation I believe.

    What’s an atomic bomb? I thought Shuhei Taniguchi used that.
