All-Japan News: Interesting Death Match Proposed For 8/13 (Updated)
SportsNavi reports an interesting potential addition to All-Japan’s 8/13 event thanks to KENSO, who held a press conference today: As an endgame of sorts to a budding feud between KENSO & Takao Omori. KENSO has proposed what is billed as (based on my translation) a “5 Men’s Decision Death Match” in place of their scheduled normal singles match. Here’s how it would work, or how I understand it at least:
Although it’s KENSO vs. Omori, there would be 5 other participants.
These 5 wrestlers are allowed to use weapons at will, but can’t actually win the match.
Each wrestler only has 30 seconds to attack KENSO and/or Omori.
The first wrestler would enter 2 minutes after the start of the match, then another one enters at 1-minute intervals.
It likely will also have Falls Count Anywhere rules.
This match is not yet official, as KENSO apparently has not submitted it to All-Japan for approval, and also there has not been an answer yet from Omori. Once we have both then we may know whether or not it will actually happen.
More as it becomes available.
8/5 UPDATE: Omori has accepted the challenge and the match is now official for 8/13.
