Various Joshi News (8/12) (Updated)

Some more various joshi news:
Ice Ribbon announced a couple of 8/21 Korakuen updates today: As previously reported Riho vs. TAJIRI is set for the card and they also announced that the previous TBA in the opening match (Hardcore match of Takashi Sasaki & Chii Tomiya vs. Ray & TBA) will be Mentallo. The rules also are set for the match: 20 minute time limit, no ref, no DQs unless in the case of what is deemed “dangerous behavior”. By the way, I only hope Riho wins in part because I’m afraid TAJIRI could legit Buzzsaw Kick Riho’s head off. Something I definitely don’t want to see.

Tomorrow’s card was announced as well, it’s first a series of 4 3-minute singles matches then an 8-woman Captains Fall elimination match followed by International Ribbon Tag Team Champions Hamuko Hoshi & Mochi Miyagi vs. Emi Sakura & Makoto for the titles. If Team Sexy loses the titles here, I riot.

Following up on SMASH’s plans to return to JCB Hall in the future, Ringstars passes along the rest of their 2011 schedule: They will run 4 more Korakuen events-9/8, 10/28, 11/24 and 12/30. The JCB return date will be 2/19/2012.

A charity event has been announced for 8/20 at what appears to be a temple in Tokyo. These matches have been announced for the independent event:
Kaori Yoneyama vs. Aiger/Eiger
Meiko Satomura vs. DASH Chisako
Shinobu Kandori & AKINO vs. Takako Inoue & Hanako Nakamori
Prior to these matches there will be other wrestling-themed events including a ZERO1 offer match of Shinjiro Otani vs. Kohei Sato. ZERO1 will also hold a pro wrestling classroom event. Profits from the event will be donated to earthquake disaster relief efforts and to support sports in the affected area.

OZ Academy will install flower stands in memory of former wrestler Plum Mariko at both the 8/14 & 8/21 events. 8/21 will also feature some special guests in attendance, including former joshi star Sugar Sato. One of the planned events will be a celebration of Aja Kong’s 25th anniversary as a wrestler.

Ringstars also posted this short video cip with highlights of a presser with it’s newest FOTOLIBRE model, Misaki Ohata, to promote her first appearance in the special series of modeling magazines Ringstars does once in a while, featuring popular joshi wrestlers doing gravure modeling. Worth watching just because Misaki does show off a couple of nice photos she did in the book. Her nickname might be “MisaKitty”, but after seeing this (and even before) I think “MisaCutie” might be more appropriate. The issue goes on sale next week in Japan (I believe the on-sale date is Thursday) for 2000 yen. The clip is below:

Speaking of idols, don’t forget that new J-Pop girl group AeLL will appear at Wednesday’s WAVE event and likely will perform an event led by one of their star attractions, popular singer/bikini idol Ai Shinozaki. Might be a mini-rave of sorts. I mention this for “guilty pleasure” purposes, haha. And Ai’s the easy one to spot, she’s got the biggest bouncy-bouncys.

UPADTE: More from a WAVE presser today:
The AeLL girls, including Ai Shinozaki, attended. And Ai will even be getting into the ring, she’ll face POK Champion Ayumi Kurihara for the title. It’s not what you think, Shinozaki isn’t exactly pulling a Yuzuki Aikawa here. Apparently it’s sumo wrestling. With their butts or something along those lines. 3 fun falls-to-be.

The full 8/17 card:
Yumi Ohka, Misaki Ohata & Cherry vs. GAMI, Moeka Haruhi & Sakura Hirota
Toshie Uematsu, Ran Yu-Yu & Ryo Mizunami vs. Kana, Mio & Io Shirai
Sawako Shimotsuke & Tomoka Nakagawa vs. Kyoko Kimura & Nao Komatsu
POK Champion Ayumi Kurihara vs. Ai Shinozaki for the title
AeLL Mini-rave

The updated 8/28 card (WAVE 4th Anniversary event at Korakuen):
Toshie Uematsu & Ran Yu-Yu vs. Fabi & Mari Apache vs. Mio & Io Shirai in a 3-way
Sakura Hirota & Kyusei Ninja Ranmaru vs. Kayoko Haruyama & Tsubasa Kuragaki
Shu Shibutani Return Match: Shu Shibutani vs. AKINO
Kana vs. Ayumi Kurihara
JWP Jr. Champion & POP Champion Sawako Shimotsuke vs. Nao Komatsu for the title
More TBA.

A separate presser was also held where WAVE announced the creation of “Corporation ZABUN”. WAVE is the corporation’s manager effective 8/1 with GAMI seriving as CEO and Yumi Ohka serving as director. No further details mentioned.

And if Riho somehow pulls out the win, breakout once again. I think it’s more Sakura trying to get the titles back for herself again, but with Makoto leaving in roughly a week they’d almost have to vacate them (in Emi’s case again, but last time it was because of the time limit draw rule). And yes, Yuzuki’s bouncys are much bigger than Ai’s as far as measurements go (Ai is a 34 1/4″ but looks closer to 37″), but Ai is much younger (19) and has only been a model for about 3 years (teen idols can start really young in Japan, youngest I’ve ever seen is probably 13-14, almost all of those are also singers, usually in AKB48 of one of their spinoffs).

I, just like you, hope that Riho wins, not only because I don’t want to see Buzzsaw Kicks on her cute face, but also because I want to see Riho prove that she can defend Ice Ribbon as good as everbody else. And I want Tajiri to eat some Somato in the face so that he becomes less crazy. Mako wants a tag title with “so many times champ” Sakura? Spear her, Team Sexy! And Ohata is soo MisaCutie… This Ai girl has good bouncys, but Aikaiwa is way better on that category, I’m afraid.
