Indy News: IGF Finds Title Challenger For Saturday

Following up on the ongoing soap opera that is IGF, they found their challenger for NEW IGF Super Luxurious 200 Million Yen Belt Champion Jerme LeBanner…it’s not Bobby Lashley. It’s not anyone else who was in the tournament. They went out and found…Kazuyuki Fujita. Basically this is a match that was supposed to happen 10 years ago at INOKI BOM-BA-YE 2001 but didn’t happen due to a Fujita injury. Now it’s a matchup between, based on a SportsNavi photo taken today, a well-dressed Japanese MMA fighter and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion (during the Inoki MMA Push days of New Japan) and a very tall freak of nature.
PS-still no word on if Atsushi Sawada will get Naoya Ogawa Saturday. He apparently didn’t crash the presser today or if he did, SportsNavi made no mention of it. Only other card additions today were kickboxing matches.

Okay, now that is unexpected… Inoki brings back the same man that was the spearhead of the “Inoki NJPW MMA hybrid era” and the last 3rd belt champ before a certain Lesnar (you know who) took it to… IGF! At least Inoki picked someone with talent (Lashley vs Lebanner would be too much of pain for our eyes ,after all…) Let’s cross fingers and hope for the best…
