One of the top Jr. Heavyweights of the 2000s, Minoru is a 16 year veteran who competed for New Japan until jumping to All-Japan in January 2009. In New Japan he first competed as his real name, Minoru Tanaka, then became the masked wrestler “Heat”. He also appeared in DDT as Minoru Polnareff before becoming simply Minoru. In All-Japan he has aligned himself with the Voodoo Murders faction and won the 2009 Jr. Tag League with Toshizo.
In New Japan Minoru won 4 IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Titles and 6 IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles, as well as previously holding the FMW Jr. Heavyweight Title and Independent Jr. Heavyweight Championsihp. He is also a former UWA World Middleweight Champion.
In January 2011 Minoru won the All-Japan World Jr. Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career, ending Kaz Hayashi’s record-setting title reign at nearly 23 months and a record 17 successful defenses to do so.
Minoru is inactive as of June 3, 2011 after being suspended indefinitely by All-Japan for being present when stablemate TARU  assaulted fellow stablemate Super Hate and not doing anything while it was going on. He was stripped of the All-Japan World Jr. Heavyweight Title as a result. He was reinstated on June 30, 2011 returned on July 9, 2011.
