Rene Dupree

A familiar name to WWE fans even if the face no longer is, Rene Dupree is a gaijin making his second go-around in All-Japan. He is aligned with the Voodoo Murders stable in the promotion and debuted a new look upon his return in January 2010.
Dupree broke into wrestling at just 14 years old in 1997, breaking into WWE in 2002. He started out on Raw as part of the La Resistance faction and became the youngest WWE World Tag Team Champion ever at just 19 in 2003. From 2004-2006 he bounced around between the WWE brands while also dealing with injuries, namely a career-threatening hernia in 2005. He wound up in ECW in 2006 & 2007 and briefly reformed La Resistance with Sylvan Grenier, but a Wellness policy violation was the beginning of the end as it resulted in his being suspended. He asked for and was given his WWE release in July 2007.
After his WWE release Dupree made his first trip to Japan, debuting in Hustle as Rene Bonaparte, winning his debut against fellow WWE castoff TAJIRI. He joined the Takada Monster Army after this and even won Wataru Sakata’s wife, popular gravure idol Eiko Koike, in a match via DQ but didn’t claim her. He made only sporadic appearances in Hustle for the next year. In June 2008 he made his first appearance in All-Japan and joined Voodoo Murders and competed briefly for them, and as of December 2009 he is in his second stint with the promotion and remains a member of VM.
