Shuji Kondo

Shuji Kondo is a 9-year veteran of puroresu and one of the top Jr. Heavyweights in All-Japan. He started out in the Toryumon system as part of the T2P class, beginning as a face before turning heel. After the turn, he joined the Italian Connection faction and changed his name to Condotti Shuji, aligning himself with longtime ally/partner “brother” YASSHI. In 2003 the faction would feud amongst itself with Kondo leading the heels, a rivalry that continued until several members-Kondo included-were fired by Dragon Gate in 2004 for behavior issues.
After a brief stint in dragondoor, Kondo joined All-Japan, where he and “brother” YASSHI would ally themselves with TARU’s Voodoo Murders stable and even hold the All-Asia Tag Team Titles for a short time. Kondo also won the All-Japan World Jr. Heavyweight Championship and had a 16-month reign.
Kondo was also a top star in the now-defunct El Dorado promotion, leaving shortly after winning the 2008 Greatest Golden League. Since his departure he has returned to full-time competition in All-Japan. As indicated by his current listed weight, he sometimes competes at Heavyweight (220+ lbs).
