The Great Muta

The Great Muta is an alter-ego previously used by Keiji Muto in Japan and the US in the 1990s and early 2000s and a gimmick he still uses for special occasions. Muto debuted the gimmick in the NWA in 1989 as the son of The Great Kabuki, wearing face paint. In 2002 Muto altered the look of the gimmick, replacing the face paint with a mask and employing the “Green mist” as a weapon, usually when the referee is distracted. Muta re-surfaced in All-Japan in 2008, during which time Muto held the Triple Crown using the gimmick. Muto also became Muta for All-Japan’s visit to Taiwan in November 2009. Muta also appeared at the WrestleReunion event in the US in January 2010.
After KENSO joined All-Japan in late 2010, Muta began making appearances again, even winning the All-Japan World Tag Team Title with his new nemesis in June 2011.
