Jun Kasai

As you can tell from this picture, Jun Kasai is hardcore. And maybe psycho. An 11-year veteran, Kasai currently competes primarily in Big Japan but is now affiliated first with Freedoms. In Big Japan he regularly teams with Jaki Numazawa and competes in hardcore and death matches. Early in his career he spent some time in the USA, competing for hardcore indy Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and describes Philadelphia (although because he’s toothless it comes out like “Hiladelhia”) as his second homeland although he was born in Japan. He also lodged with “unpredictably exciting guy” Wifebeater (Chris Hero) while in the USA.
He has participated twice in “Razor Deathmatches”, a hardcore match where boards are fitted with razor blades. It’s extremely violent, and in November 2009 he’s going to do it again for another chance at the Big Japan Death Match Heavyweight Title. When he’s not getting hardcore in Big Japan he is also part of Freedoms although he still maintains a regular BJW schedule, working virtually all shows.
Kasai’s 11/20/09 match with Ryuji Ito in Big Japan was named 2009 Match Of The Year by Tokyo Sports in their annual year-end awards.
Kasai made what could be considered a surprise appearance in Ice Ribbon in May 2010 to team with his biggest fan-Ice Ribbon star Miyako Matsumoto-to help her win the International Ribbon Tag Team Championship. They make quite the odd couple-a cosplay cutie & a hardcore psycho.
