Tohoku Jr. Heavyweight Championship History

The Tohoku Jr. Heavyweight Championship is the singles title in Michinoku Pro. It was created in August 2002 when Dick Togo won a tournament to become the first champion.

To this date there have been 14 Tohoku Jr. Heavyweight Champions. They are listed below in order of reign along with which reign it was (some won it multiple times), length of reign and number of successful defenses.
1-Dick Togo. 1st reign. Length: 8/25/2002-8/26/2003. Successful defenses: 2.

2-Atlantis. 1st reign. Length: 8/26/2003-3/28/2004. Successful defenses: 4.

3-The Great Sasuke. 1st reign. Length: 3/28/2004-2/19/2005. Successful defenses: 1.

4-Taka Michinoku. 1st reign. Length: 2/19/2005-3/7/2006. Successful defenses: 6. Vacated title on 3/7/2006 due to injury.

5-Kagetora. 1st reign. Length: 3/19/2006. Successful defenses: None. Vacated title immediately to let it be contested for in a tournament.

6-Takeshi Minamino. 1st reign. Length: 4/23/2006-5/21/2006. Successful defenses: None.

7-Super Delfin. 1st reign. Length: 5/21/2006-10/8/2006. Successful defenses: 2.

8-The Great Sasuke. 2nd reign. Length: 10/8/2006-11/19/2006. Successful defenses: None.

9-GAINA. 1st reign. Length: 11/19/2006-11/9/2007. Successful defenses: 2.

10-Yoshitsune. 1st reign. Length: 11/9/2007-12/12/2008. Successful defenses: 6.

11-Fujita “Jr.” Hayato. 1st reign. Length: 12/12/2008-9/5/2009. Successful defenses: 2.

12-Ou Kobushi/Kenou. 1st reign. Length: 9/5/2009-11/7/2010. Successful defenses: 3. (Note: Kobushi changed name to Kenou in January 2010)
