Toshie Uematsu

profile_toshieuematsu Toshie Uematsu is a popular 15-year veteran of puroresu who has competed in both Japan and the USA. She may be best known to some US fans as one of only 3 women to ever hold the WCW Women’s Cruiserweight Championship, and she also was the first champion. Following that, she competed in GAEA Japan until 2005 and has been a freelancer since, appearing in virtually every active promotion. In addition to winning multiple tag team titles, she’s also a 2-time DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. And no, she looks nothing like the above picture outside the ring, she’s your typical pretty Japanese girl when she’s not competing. Which isn’t very often, today she maintains what might be the busiest schedule in all joshi, and maybe even puroresu-if there’s a show on any given day, regardless of who’s putting it on, there’s at least a chance she’ll be there. She alternates between singles and tag team competition, in the latter she usually teams with Ran Yu-Yu, although in early 2010 she began teaming more frequently with KAZUKI in JWP-they won a tournament in March 2010 to claim the then-vacant JWP & Daily Sports Tag Team Titles.
In April 2011 Uematsu announced she was officially joining WAVE. Uematsu also announced she will retire in April 2012.
