Kyosuke Mikami

Kyosuke Mikami is a member of New Japan in his second year, he made his debut on March 7, 2010 on an emergency basis with just under a week’s notice. Influenced by his father from a very young age, he participated in judo and wrestling throughout school and college, graduating from the same university as current New Japan star Mitsuhide Hirasawa. After graduating he went through 4 years of unemployment before passing the enrollment test into the New Japan Dojo in May 2009. When injuries forced last-minute card changes in March 2010, Mikami was elevated on an emergency basis to the main roster with about 5 days’ notice and made his official debut on March 7 against Ryusuke Taguchi.
Although he has been used mainly as a jobber to date and has yet to win in New Japan, Mikami won a match for the first time in his career on July 24 when he beat Yusuke Kodama in SMASH.
