Tetsuya Naito

Half of the NO LIMIT team in New Japan with Yujiro, Tetsuya Naito is a 4-year pro who competes mainly in the Jr. Heavyweight division. A soccer and baseball player growing up, Naito started out training at Animal Hamaguchi’s gym and made his debut in May 2006. After his first full year he got to compete in the 2007 Super J-Cup as an injury replacement then formed NO LIMIT with Yujiro. The team unsuccessfully challenged in NOAH for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title, but then won the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. They reigned for nearly 3 months before losing the belts at Tokyo Dome in 2009. Following this loss, Yujiro headed to TNA Wrestling for a time and after a failed attempt to recapture the IWGP Jr. Tag Titles, Naito left the promotion for an excursion to Mexico.
Naito returned to New Japan in January ’10 to re-form NO LIMIT with Yujiro and win the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles in an upset but then immediately announced his intention to return to Mexico, which he now calls his second home. He & Yujiro broke up as a team in spring 2011 and Naito later lost to Yujiro in a subsequent singles match.
Naito left New Japan after the 6/18/2011 major event for a second excursion to Mexico, this time to compete in CMLL. He is expected to return to Japan at the end of July 2011.
