Ippei Ota

profile_ippeiotaIppei Ota was a Jr. Heavyweight wrestler in NOAH who spent his entire career in the promotion. Part of a 2005 NOAH class that included Atsushi Aoki, Genba Hirayanagi and Akihiko Ito, Ota primarily competed in opening matches and occasionally mid-card matches. Since he was a lesser-experienced wrestler he (as well as Ito and until recently Aoki) was often used as a “jobber”, usually the one taking the deciding pinfall or submission in tag team matches. He did have one brief success in his career, winning a 6 Man Tag Team Tournament with Go Shiozaki and Naomichi Marufuji in 2007.
Ota retired in October 2009, it’s believed this was due to injuries that had kept him out of action since April 2009.
