Taiji Ishimori

A 9-year veteran, Taiji Ishimori originally started out in Mexico and was one of the most pushed stars in the Toryumon system. After a stint in the system and El Dorado, where he was billed as one of the promotion’s top stars, he became a freelancer and joined NOAH in April 2006, using a Lucha-inspired moveset that he still uses today. Outside of a GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title reign with KENTA in 2008 he has mostly been in the midcard but has been pushing hard towards his goal of the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship. He won his 2nd GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in February 2010 by teaming with Ricky Marvin to win a tournament for the then-vacant titles. With the help of Takeshi Morishima, Ishimori added the AAA Campeones de Parejas to his list of accolades in March 2010, as the pair won the titles in Mexico with Ishimori scoring the title-winning pinfall over Nicho El Millionario (the former Psicosis in WCW).
Ishimori is inactive as of July 11, 2011 due to a left foot injury. It’s not known how long he’ll be out.
