NOSAWA Rongai

All-Japan’s resident juggalo (seriously), NOSAWA Rongai is a 13-year veteran who is the founder and leader of the Tokyo Gurentai faction in All-Japan. He has competed throughout the world in his career and even produced his own independent events in Japan.
NOSAWA started out in Mexico’s CMLL, where he was trained by the legendary Negro Casas. In his early days he competed in both Mexico and Japan, appearing in a variety of promotions in addition to All-Japan, with his earliest successes coming in DDT in 2001. He won both of DDT’s titles at the time, the KO-D Openweight Championship and KO-D Tag Team Championship. He continued splitting time between All-Japan and indies over the years, including appearances in the US for TNA Wrestling and the independent Juggalo Championship Wrestling promotion run by the Insane Clown Posse, where he even won the JCW Heavyweight Championship.
NOSAWA returned to All-Japan in 2004 full-time, but had to leave again in 2005 after losing a “banishment match” to his old friend MAZADA. But he soon returned as a masked wrestler named Space Lone Wolf, but was unmasked at the end of the year. NOSAWA & MAZADA began teaming again in 2006, and towards the end of the year they aligned with Minoru Suzuki. NOSAWA & Suzuki competed in the ’06 Real World Tag League but ended up in last. In ’07 he changed his ring name to El NOSAWA Mendoza and formed a new stable called “Los Mexico Amigos”, with PEPE Michinoku (TAKA Michinoku) and Miguel Hayashi, Jr (Kaz Hayashi). Nobutaka Araya then joined the team as El Hijo del ARAYA Segundo after the Carnival’s final show. Along with changing their names, the group wore the official colors of the Mexican Flag (Red/Green/White). After multiple bouts against Minoru Suzuki, NOSAWA offered Suzuki an invitation into Mexico Amigos, to which he declined. This resulted in the group changing multiple assets. Their name was changed to Mexico Amigos Black, the previous worn Mexican Flag attire became black and gold attire, and Araya was kicked out of the group. Later in the year, Mexico Amigos teamed with “Ray Suzuki” and defeated Ryuji Hijikata, Kikutaro, T28 and Ryuji Yamaguchi. After the match, Ray Suzuki revealed himself as Minoru Suzuki and stated that starting next year NOSAWA would throw his Amigos tights away and return to NOSAWA Rongai, then kidnapped him to start early training. This led to Pepe and Miguel stating they would return to Mexico, but Kaz and Taka would return come the new year. After one last “Viva Mexico”, Mexico Amigos disbanded.
After that disbanding NOSAWA reunited with MAZADA and formed the Tokyo Gurentai faction along with MAZADA and TAKEMURA. Suzuki and Taiyo Kea also joined, as did Yoshihiro Takayama later on. It finally earned NOSAWA some real success, as he & Suzuki held the All-Asia Tag Team Titles for most of 2009. In addition to competing in All-Japan, NOSAWA is a regular in other promotions, most recently Dragon Gate as well as other indies, and occasionally has promoted “NOSAWA Bom-Ba-Ye” events, a series of comedy-themed shows poking fun at Antonio Inoki’s IGF.
