Tomoko Morii

A 9-year veteran of wrestling, Tomoko Morii debuted in All-Japan Women in late 2001 and quickly became one who big things were expected of thanks to a tournament win at the end of the year, but it didn’t work out because she left the promotion in early 2002. After a 4-year hiatus she returned to wrestling in 2006 as part of Kaoru Ito’s Ito Dojo promotion, where she stayed until the promotion closed at the end of 2010. After that she became a freelancer, forming a small booking agency/partnership with fellow Ito Dojo stablemate Hanako Nakamori (then Kobayashi) and began participating regularly in JWP. In March 2011 Morii became an official member of JWP. She is more of a heel in the promotion and seems to be frequently causing trouble for Sachie Abe & KAZUKI in particular.
Morii is also one of a number of women wrestlers in Japan who are or have been MMA fighters. She fought 3 times in her career, from November 2008-December 2009, going 1-2 in the popular Jewels promotion. She beat Chihiro Oikawa by submission for her only win, bookended by submission losses to Japanese legend Megumi Fujii and German fighter Alexandra Sanchez.
